Luke, almost 3, needs a family
Luke (3 years old in June) is slim, blue-eyed and white UK. His carers describe him as “a joy to care for” and “very giving”. He has developmental delay, with moderate coordination and muscle tone problems, but now feeds himself. Luke is unsteady on his feet but picks himself up without crying.
Luke is very mobile and active but has not developed any speech yet and it is difficult to assess his verbal understanding. He goes to nursery every day where he receives speech therapy. He also has physiotherapy and is supported by a paediatrician and an ophthalmologist. Based on the paediatrician’s opinion in October 2007, Luke had been exposed to excessive alcohol during pregnancy.
Luke has poor concentration at the moment but enjoys having a book read to him. He is alert and has a natural curiosity. He is smiley, affectionate and cheerful and has quickly discovered his love for chocolate & musical toys.
Luke likes cuddles and one-to-one attention. He has developed a good attachment with his carers, particularly the foster mother, and loves the company of other children or young people.
Luke is used to a busy family life and, although he is constantly on the go during the day, he has a regular routine and sleeps soundly during the night. Luke requires maximum stimulation and a carer with a lot of energy. We are looking for somebody who could take care of Luke as a member of their household for at least the next 25 years.
Luke is likely to need contact of some sort with his older brother.
Financial support and other support needs will be explored further with any potential family. If you would like to know more about Luke please contact Chris on 020 7520 2881.
We are also looking for families for other children. You can read about some of them here.
