London Triathlon 2009
Saturday 1st August 09 (relay teams) and Sunday 2nd August 09 (individuals)
Triathlon is the UK's fastest growing sport and each year more and more people take part in the London Triathlon – the world's largest triathlon. 2007 – the 11th year of the event – saw around 8,400 people swimming, biking and running, as individuals or in the team event. For over half the participants it was their first triathlon, but many say that it certainly won't be their last.
Why not take part in this years London Triathlon and raise fund for Parents for Children?
Challenge yourself to one of the ultimate athletic events of the year and sign up for one of the Individual categories. Online enteries are now being taken via www.thelondontriathlon.co.uk.
Corporate teams
Why not get a team together from your company to compete in the London Triathlon for Parents for Children?
It's a great way to promote the idea of working as a team while encouraging fitness and social responsibility. Entering more than one team can lead to some healthy internal competition. Everyone in the company can join in, reading about the teams' training progress on your company intranet or newsletter. You can also get clients involved, not only asking for sponsorship, but how about making a real day of it by inviting some clients along in August to watch the event, and then celebrate at a post-triathlon party? Or you could encourage some of your clients to enter teams as well and have a mini competition?
Help with training and fundraising
Parents for Children triathletes have so far raised over £27,000 from the 2008 & 2007 Triathlons and we hope that the 2009 event will enable us to help even more vulnerable children to have a brighter future.
We can offer you lots of fundraising advice and a Parents for Children fundraiser's pack to start you on your way. We are asking our corporate teams to try to raise at least £1,000 in sponsorship for us – that's a target of £333.33 each for a team of three people.
If you'd like to join us, our events team would love to hear from you. You can use our online form, email info@parentsforchildren.org.uk or call 020 7520 2880.
We're with you every step of the way!
